Video Producer

Position Summary

The Video Producer assists with the execution and implementation of video strategies for the KSU Foundation. This position requires a high level of professional, service-oriented interaction and collaboration with KSU Foundation staff, University staff and students, as well as our donors. The Video Producer will provide on-site, full production services to deliver quality work for our stakeholders and our organization. This position will have the opportunity to work on all stages of the production process: Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production, and work closely with other members of the video and communications teams. The Video Producer will be responsible for managing projects as assigned from start to finish, and deliver videos that advance our organizations mission and inspire philanthropic investment in K-State.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Pre-Production: Responsible for developing video concepts, scripts, and production schedules for assigned projects. Maintaining client communications throughout the production process to ensure successful outcome and timely delivery.
  2. Production: Videography and lighting in a variety of settings. (Interviews/B-Roll)
  3. Post Production: Responsible for editing video, preparing cuts for client reviews/client approvals, and delivering final product in all requested formats.
  4. Maintaining video equipment and making recommendations for additional/replacement equipment, when needed.
  5. Production support for other video projects, or other video staff.


  • Bachelors degree or comparable mix of education and applicable professional video production experience.
  • Three to five years of professional video production experience.
  • High proficiency working in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Proficiency with Adobe After Effects. 
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Media Encoder.
  • Experience and knowledge of studio, location and multi-camera production environments.
  • Technical understanding of professional video equipment including cameras, lighting and audio tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, donors and alumni.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects at one time and deliver quality work according to established timelines.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for his/her work and the art of video production.


  • Some travel required.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional physical exertion such as long periods of sitting or standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities.
  • Carrying and setting up equipment will require occasional lifting, carrying and pushing of up to 50 lbs.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Animation and compositing skills, to include high proficiency in Adobe After Effects or other similar animation programs
  • UAS videography experience
