Stewardship & Donor Engagement Assistant - Student

Position Summary
The Stewardship & Events Assistant will report to the Donor Engagement Specialist. This individual will
provide administrative support to the Stewardship & Donor Engagement department. This position is a
temporary part time, non-exempt student position.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the mission of the Kansas State University Foundation (“Foundation”) as it relates to the educational, research and service goals of the University. Communicate the institution’s needs and priorities both internally and externally.
  2. Establish and nurture effective, collegial working relationships with Foundation coworkers, university partners, and donors.
  3. Promote and demonstrate respect, collaboration, and friendly customer service in all working relationships.
  4. Record scholarship thank you letters in the database and ensure delivery of letters to donors.
  5. Assist at events during and after business hours.
  6. Prepare attendee lists, nametags, place cards and computer generated reports as directed using Microsoft Office programs and donor based software programs.
  7. Prepare donor mailers and gifts, including birthday and anniversary cards.
  8. Assist with deliveries, room set-up, and other departmental errands. Assist with donor engagement storeroom inventory.
  9. Provide general back-up and clerical assistance for the stewardship and donor engagement departments as needed. Assist with scanning and filing of pertinent documents.
  10. Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be currently enrolled in coursework at Kansas State University.
  • Advanced operating knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to private donor and student information.
  • Ability to enter data accurately and ability to meet deadlines required.
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to work closely with all internal departments and external clients.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Travel:

  • No travel required.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is primarily sedentary. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. May require occasional physical exertion such as long periods of sitting or standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.
  • Requires recurring lifting of heavy items and must be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a professional office environment preferred.
  • Demonstrates high-level of professionalism in conduct and attire.
