Compliance Services Coordinator

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Compliance Services, the Compliance Coordinator is an integral part of the Compliance Services team, responsible for day-to-day compliance services. The Coordinator has a positive can-do attitude and works as a team player to exercise flexibility in responding to the needs of donors, foundation staff, and university constituents while ensuring necessary compliance to include proper reporting and monitoring the use of funds. This position is highly collaborative with cross-functional colleagues. In addition to working closely with other compliance services team members, the Coordinator will work to optimize internal efficiency.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Assist members of the Compliance Services team with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) process.
  2. Record fund information into various software systems. This may include entering information into the CRM system, Academic Works, the on-line giving tree or other processes that may occur in the future.
  3. Assist with the processing of annual federal and state income tax returns.
  4. Assists with the gathering of information needed to review MOUs for proper administration. This may include assistance with fund audit processes and information gathering for other Compliance Services team members as requested.
  5. Assist with the gathering of information needed for the review and audit of Foundation owned Life Insurance Policies.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years professional experience in a professional office with focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a diverse donor base, university partners, foundation colleagues and peers through verbal and written means. Customer centric approach with the ability to listen and translate the needs of various internal and external partners into action.
  • Proficient use of programs in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Travel:

  • No travel required.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is primarily sedentary. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. May require occasional physical exertion such as long periods of sitting or standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Mastery of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Previous experience using CRM software.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize projects and plans to deliver results.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on projects.
  • Experience with non-profits, ideally in higher education.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the university and the mission of the foundation.
  • Driven and hard working.
