Applications Analyst

Position Summary
The Applications Analyst reports to the Applications Manager. She/he will develop, administrate, and provide support for custom and off-the-shelf IT application solutions with an emphasis on collaboration systems, digital donor experience, electronic signature services, financial systems, workflow automation, document imaging, and CRM. The Applications Analyst will manage small to medium-sized IT development projects working with end users to create scalable and structured programs that help the organization increase efficiency and reduce costs. The Applications Analyst will partner with business partners and end users to implement workflows, identify opportunities for process improvements in business operations, and use technology to improve efficiency and quality across the organization. This position is highly collaborative with other Foundation colleagues, and works closely with staff across the organization.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Gather user requirements and perform analysis, design, and development of databases and application programs.
  2. Perform as system administrator for key systems as assigned, including intranet portal, workflow automation, and document imaging.
  3. Manage small to medium-sized IT development projects.
  4. Partner with business clients to define and implement workflows that take advantage of automation and document imaging solutions.
  5. Assist in the selection of IT solutions to be used by Foundation staff.
  6. Maintain security of assigned systems, and support information protection initiatives.
  7. Develop training materials and documentation. Perform training as required.
  8. Maintain contact with vendors to assist support activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3-4 years’ professional transferrable experience in positions that required software development.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with business partners.
  • Experience with software development using Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience in one of the major commercial database management systems (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Customer centric approach with the ability to listen and translate the needs of the organization into action for the IT staff.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record required.

Travel:

  • No travel required.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is primarily sedentary. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. May require occasional physical exertion such as long periods of sitting or standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with workflow management and imaging systems (ImageNow/Perceptive Content).
  • Results-oriented, quality-driven and team oriented.
  • I-net development skills including web page design and n-tier development.
  • Microsoft SharePoint administration experience.
  • Experience creating DDL and DML.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on projects.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the university and the mission of the Foundation.
